*Blows dust* Jesus, this is worse than Bunzy’s go-to spot full of fur.
Anyway, hey y’all. We’re still in a pandemic two years later because no one knows what they’re doing. At this point, this is the new normal. Unprecedented times my… One thing the pandemic has brought to a lot of people is clarity. We’ve all heard about The Great Resignation, millions of people quitting their jobs in pursuit of a happier and more flexible life, and I honestly don’t blame them. When your entire normal changes, you reprioritize what’s important. Should you spend hours, days, weeks, months, years, doing something you don’t love, or is it time for a change? Heaven forbid something happens, do you want to be in a hospital thinking, “Shoulda could woulda?” I know I don’t. While I am not following in the footsteps of TGR, (I have been very lucky working with people who care about my wellbeing), I am making a bit of a career change. Last fall I decided to go back to school so I can go back to school. “Clarissa…what?” Currently, I am taking undergrad science and nutrition classes so I can obtain my master’s in Clinical Nutrition. While design has been a great skill I’ve developed over the last 11 years, I wanted to do more to help people. As someone who has had struggles with body image, dealing with two metabolic diseases (PCOS and hypothyroidism), and disordered eating, nutrition peeked my interest in the last few years. For selfish and selfless reasons, I want to absorb all of the scientific content I can when it come to the mechanics of nutrition (which I’ve realized is both complicated and simple). The plan for grad school goes as such:
- Complete undergrad prerequisites (1.5 years)
- Apply to programs and get accepted
- Start in the fall 2024
- Graduate in 2 years
- Work as Clinical Nutritionist

My friends are moving to other states, buying homes, selling homes, having kids, getting married, breaking up, getting divorced…all because being stuck makes life difficult. I get it, and lately I’ve started to pick apart what I want and what I’m not willing to settle for. I encourage you to do the same thing if you can. You deserve happiness during these crazy times. I don’t know when we’ll move on, but don’t wait to do it. Taking the smallest steps helps you get closer to what you want… At least that’s what I’m choosing to believe. With love, C
